Fellow healers on this journey,
My name is Arti and I live in an apartment building. Recently my landlord (PD) called me at 10:00 pm last night-on the line used to report emergencies. She said she hasn't seen me for awhile and wanted to know if I'm okay. I only answered because I thought it might be an emergency.
I emailed her district manager to notify her of this breach of boundary of a non emergency call at night.
I've been noticing of late the dysfunction of her management style and setting better boundaries by not going to the lobby where her office is located. It's a hub of dysfunction where she and others congregate to feed off of each other.
I know I will feel the kickback from this and the gaslighting. She's an expert controller and manipulator.
any advice on how to maintain my hard earned boundaries for my emotional wellbeing and safety?
thank you

Hi and welcome to Out of the FOG. What a frustration all of this must be for you. I am glad you have joined the community!

The best way I know to live out boundaries with someone nearby determined to ignore them is to do what you are doing... keep your distance and don't engage beyond a superficial, cool, composed pleasant hello when you pass them in the hallway or common areas.

The toolbox at the drop down menus above is a great place to go and find specific characteristics you are encountering because it offers insights and do/don't suggestions which are really helpful.

I imagine there is a long history of intrusive behaviors with this manager and hopefully you can not let this get into your head as you go about your life.

Keep sharing and coming back. It really helps to lighten a heavy load!

Hello ARTI,

I went through something similar with a superintendent who just seemed more interested in causing drama than fixing things. Seemed to want to get underneath your skin, and into your business, when it was none of his business.

At one point he got drunk and began harassing me to the point I threatened to break my lease early. I think he acted that way because he had personal issues, and addiction issues. Thankfully he moved and is no longer in the building.

Thank you,
yes, definately more interested in causing drama. everything is a 10 on the crisis scale. I have to ask myself how important is this.
thank you for your comment.
