Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with something, does anyone have some good resources for coping with self sabotage? I know part of it is related to just not feeling 'deserving' of certain things. I would really like to work on that!

Have you read the Pete Walker Complex PTSD book? I feel like he deals with this and a lot of related issues like the "inner critic" and perfectionism, etc.

Hi Cat of Canals,
Thank you! Yes I have read it, but not for quite a while! I might pop back into it! :-)

For me, I actually read a book called "Get your Sh*t together" by Sarah Knight.   This is actually the one time I'll recommend the audio book over the written one.  The author does the reading herself and one area she focuses on are simple steps to half self sabotage.   In most context it's about overcoming your own procrastination or problems with not taking care of important things but she goes into the areas of life where we repeat things that keep us from moving forward.   She is NOT a psychiatrist so it's not a clinical book but it is full of very hard cutting practical advice about looking at your life and seeing where you need to plan, break things down, take steps and get things done for yourself in a constructive way.
It is unwise to seek prominence in a field whose routine chores you do not enjoy.
