Has Anyone Ever Experienced a Neighbour Stalking Them

Thankfully this neighbour doesn't have my contact info.

But there is something unnerving about him.

Recently he approached my male friend and told him that I shouldn't leave my apartment door open for my cat because there's an addict in the building, and her friend's may attack me. He said that he is only telling him this because he's watched me get into his car.

He said I leave my door open to my apartment while I am sitting on my bed.

What makes this unnerving is I had a weird experience where I thought I saw someone watching me through a crack (on the hinge side) in my door. Also if you look in the front entry of my door when it is open you can't see me sitting in my bed.

Prior to that he has followed me on walks and tried to approach me, I guess with the guise being "he's just concerned for my safety." I did contact police over that, but didn't charge, or confront him.

Also he has said a number of intensely creepy things like he watched the Hell's Angels murder people. He also said he is really into the addict because she knows powerful people.

His way of talking is extremely overbearing where he won't let you get a word in edgewise.

I remember trying to talk about wanting quiet neighbours and he immediately told me "you don't like quiet" and proceeded to tell me what like, despite what I said.

He talked incessantly about himself, running from the cops, some weirdness involving police scanners and his body building days. He talks so much it's anxiety inducing. He accused me of not listening to him, when I just responded in kind to him. I had to tell him a couple of times to stop talking over me.

He approached metwice to try and get me in his car. Once out of the blue he just pulled up and offered me a ride while I was out on a walk.

Another time he approached me at my door and asked me to go to his place of business, at night, while it was closed.

He also has been sexually forward where he said if I was in his apartment I would wind up in his bed.

He has been a little incessant with knocking on my door but management told him to stop.

When I tried to ignore him he scoffed at me.

My landlord is trying to evict him because he's gotten into trouble with the police for something else and has been aggressively persistent with them.

Anyone else deal with creepy stalkerish neighbours?

Invisiblewoman - this sounds really disturbing. I am thankful you have gone to the police and your landlord seems to be working on removing this person. I am so sorry this is happening.

I am sorry you are dealing with this.  It has to be awful that you cannot live in peace in your own home.  Mercy, once you close a door you should feel separated from the crazy of the world and for you it's hanging around the door and the near surroundings. 

I hope they evict him soon.

I would tape a strip of cloth over that hinge area so it blocked the view and would get a three part room divider or dressing screen to block the view of the interior of the apartment from the door.

I've got some tape.

I did get some new cameras as well.

I don't know if his eviction is final yet.

I will be looking into getting a PO Box for my mail as well, since he was waiting in the hallway with my packages to try and force contact with me.

Reroute my mail to the post office now.

He used to grab my packages and wait in the hallway with them for me.  He seemed to use the packages to force interactions with him.
