Thank goodness my mother is finally out of the hospital and moved into the assisted living!!!   :elephant: I feel like a huge weight is off my shoulders.  The place where she is living is sooooo nice, and every single person we interacted with is amazing.  Not to mention they have gone over and above for us getting her in so soon and letting her stay in a furnished show room until we can get her furniture over there.  It's been a long, grueling day, and there is much work to be done still, but the biggest hurdle is OVER.

NOW, I can finally put limits on our phone calls, texts, emails, and just have short, hopefully more pleasant visits with her, without constantly worrying if she is going to have a medical or psychiatric crisis. Well, she still might, but it won't be all on me to put out the fire from now on.  I am so, so grateful. I may just sleep for the next 3 days.      LOL.

Thank you all for putting up with my constant posting here the last week or so.  I'm sure there's more to come, but you don't know how much this group has helped me survive the past week.   :grouphug:

That's amazing, Time to heal! What a great update. You should go and get a nice massage treatment and have a long, relaxing bath to get rid of all the tension in your body!

Hey TtH

I'm so glad to hear this news. What a relief for you!

And yes, you can have all the boundaries in place around visits, phone calls etc that you need to help you stay sane.

I hope you have a wonderful sleep, a fabulous massage and possibly even treat yourself with something new or a lovely holiday somewhere.  Wry happy for you.

NarcKiddo

Don't let the narcs get you down!

Thank you doglady and NarcKiddo!

Happy to hear your mom is safe and has other supports besides you! Take good care of yourself and enjoy the extra space in your life.

It must feel wonderful to have it sorted.  I hope you get the rest you need and get portions of your life back that we being consumed.

TimetoHeal

Thank you, 1footout!

It is still getting sorted, and the last couple of weeks have been brutal, but I am finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel!

Congratulations TTH!  We moved my mom in about 2 years ago after a couple years where her crises (real and imagined) ruled our daily lives.  I remember the incredible sense of relief upon driving home from moving her in.  The move did NOT go well (yelling, crying) but once we arrived she had to put on the nice face you uses for others & my brother & I got out of there as soon as she was settled.

I hope you're feeling more relaxed & unburdened with each passing day!

Thank you, wisingup!  I remember reading your story about your mother's move to AL.  I remember thinking how horrible the move was but how much relief you must have felt once it was done. I am definitely relishing that feeling right now.

My mom was on her best behavior for the move, probably because her last meltdown landed her a stay in the geriatric psych for a week.  I don't think she wanted a repeat of that!

I'm so happy for you!  There is likely more drama ahead, but there will be many others around who are paid to deal with a large part of it.

Glad the situation has stabilized.  Practice a little extra self care, especially if you sacrificed and lost ground in the stress of it all

I just had a rough week followed by a week break and got some extra sleep, cooked nice things for myself  and did work on some undone projects that relieved stress.
