Just curious if anyone has any strong opinions one way or the other about Lise Leblanc as a resource. She has countless videos focusing primarily on helping men navigate NPD/BPD women. I am especially curious if anyone has had a coaching session with her. They are quite expensive, compared to normal therapy, as I would expect, and I wonder how much personalized help I could get in just a session or two based on the price point. thanks!

I had not heard of her before you mentioned but some cursory looks raise a number of red flags for me. In assessing this type of offering/person I tend to think about credentialing and education, within field expertise and respect, whether the services or products arose from a push or pull demand, and what the... business model seems to be.

Nearly everything about her is information created by her. She is/was a therapist and coach, which is not a particularly specialist bar. She has a bachelors in psych and unrelated masters degree (which... I have also). Life coaches and similar have an interest in ongoing engagement/payment by clients, which is not to say there isn't value but makes me definitively want to find oit more (as you are asking here). Her bio mentions numerous books but her footprint on Amazon is pretty small with few reviews and it looks like they are all/largely using an on demand publisher (maybe pay-to-publish). It looks like she may have a couple scholarly publications (or someone with the same name does), but in unrelated fields (education, which is her masters degree).

For that distinction of push versus pull, think about Dr. Ramani or Burned Haystack... the books, communities, etc. came about from strong demand and requests from people following very expert-experts who had shared content. Both are doctorate level specialists who train others within their field. This does not feel like that. Googling also revealed some pretty strong critiques on her perspective and expertise including stigmatizing/overgeneralized portrayals of folks with PD. Watching a bit of her YouTube, the content seems decent and specific to PD dynamics and have that sort of "6 reasons..." structure that can be helpful in IDing specific traits/behaviors.  But it's not something that makes me think "I need to get more from this person."

If I was looking to invest some, I'd probably look into Dr. Ramani's recovery network/program since that also brings peer aspects, guest experts, on demand content. Or I'd start with one of Leblanc's books or a more defined service than 1:1 (something with an endpoint/fixed price to evaluate use and see if the vibe seems to be upselling). She doesn't offer refunds for things, stating the reason as the course contents are accessible from the get. Especially given that stuff like the groups includes regular real-time meetings, I would expect a partial refund to be considered.

As for pricing. The group and class seem a bit spendy for what's included given and her credentials/standing but not out of range. The coaching sessions definitely seem high I am used to typically are in the $150-$350 range. And those are for arguably higher end stuff like business leader coaching, out of pocket doctor consult, or expert project consult hours.

Thank you for the response!! Ms. LeBlanc may be wonderful but not worth the price point based on all the points you made.
