At least I think I'm Autistic because I'm even questioning that and I'm in a home for people with Developmental Disablities, so it's really getting scary. My father was raised by Narcissitic literal Nazi (I mean an OG Nazi who lived in Germany at the time of Hitler). He's never fully matured, basically not understanding boundries or any real socail skills, but's multiplitive enough that he found a woman to have me with, who was recovering from abuse who was in a cultish Baptist sect.

My borther was also diagnosed, but it quickly became apperent he wasn't autistic, rather he had an undiagnosed siezure disorder and truama. This has caused me to wonder about my own diagnosis as well I've been probbing the nature of Autism itself and noted some real inconsistencies in the whole concept, including that I've learned plenty of disorders can look that same same and that NTs have the same triats just not expressed as in extreme a manner (and strangely narcissist too) and further just how attached with both Lovaas and Asperger that whole entire cconcept is linked to the Nazis and Eugunics. Basically I am wondering if my diagonose is real.

I went through childhood being beaten around by my father and bullied school and the subject of victim blaming, eventually deciding to turn to violence in my teenage years. This caused many problems I'm still paying for at only a few years till 40.

I just want to get my life under control. My dad is beginning to respect me and understand his problems, but last night I had to call down a room search he had consented to for me to find a missing debit card someone else had lost.

sleipnir - welcome to Out of the FOG. Thank you for giving us a bit of context to the difficult relationships that bring you here. It is understandable that you would want answers about your own diagnosis and insights in to how best go forward in your relationship with your father.

It sounds like you are going through a lot and seeking some support and guidance for yourself. It can be a bit of a journey. And while we are not able to diagnose anyone the resources and toolbox at the drop down menus above are a great help in building tools and learning what might and might not be helpful with disordered traits we are encountering in a loved one.

The conversations taking place on the forum boards are where you will find peer support that offers a level of understanding and much needed validation. I hope your time here is of good help to you as you work through the fallout from the choices and behaviors of others.

I look forward to seeing you out on the forum boards!
