How much info should I give him?
« on: May 20, 2017, 09:53:57 AM »
I just got in trouble (again) with my u/npd exH.

Our son (10) has had a cold for a few days.  I didn't tell his father cos it's just a cold.

And surely he'd have children's paracetamol etc on hand at home.

And surely common sense tells us how to treat a cold. It's not his first one.

Ds has been with his Dad overnight as per the usual arrangement.

Should I have told him?

I don't really think parents should need warning about a cold. A fever? Strep throat? Vomiting? Yes. Otherwise, for minor illnesses, I'd think he could see right away that DS had a cold and would behave accordingly!

I agree, mamato3.  Perhaps next time ds has a cold I should email ex with,

"Ds has a cold. Usual treatment applies.".

But no amount of communication is enough....
