I was looking up what states had what length of required separation our of curiosity.  My state required a year, another two years.

This seems so unfair especially in situations where there is domestic violence.

Anyway, I came across a factoid that is interesting and thought I could share.  Guam, a USA territory, allows someone from USA to file for divorce after spending a week.  It has to be uncomfortable tested to go quick but it can be done in such away to circumvent the year or two required by some states.

Guam any one?  A quick Google search of hotels and resorts, indicates it could be a nice way to reset.

Wow, autocorrect did a number with that.  I was trying to say if it was uncontested.

Can the pd come back at you later for property and custody?

I am guessing g it would all be in the up front divorce agreement.

This would likely vary from state to state as to what can happen after a divorse.

Of course all actions considered would need legal advise.

I just found it I testing just the 1 or 2 year thing might have a potential till work around.  For many this might enable a quick get away while an ex was happy and wanting to start over with a new partner or something like that.
