My father died last week and I found this article which does help me. I will write a letter in the Unsent letters when I feel ready.

I was only estranged from my father because I could not be in contact with my mother.

I would not go to the funeral as the only person I would want to see is no longer there. But, in these times there is not going to be a funeral due to Social Distancing so that let's me off the hook, my FOO cannot say anything about that, not that what they say matters.
