Greetings Brave Souls,
I visited this sight regularly about 10  years ago- and I believe my connection here saved my life. A two year journey and a civil escort to finally cutting the cord.
I am back because my current partner has a disturbed ex wife who is just "there"- a little to much, for a little to long (5 years)... While I feel like I know what I am looking at (to some degree) and can feel compassion for her pain... I have to articulate and set boundaries in regard to her presence in my "our" life.
She is the mother of my partners children and has tremendous impact on my partners relationship with the kids. In 5 years I have not been permitted to meet them. They are now in their early twenties... and would rather not "upset" mom and insist their father doesn't either...
Back to my purpose- support in articulating and setting boundaries for a relationship very closely once removed.

Greetings. This forum has changed my life too. Yes remaining calm while enacting boundaries is the way to move forward through this volitile situation ime. Easier said than done though. You are in a hard spot imo. Im glad you are going to use the combined wisdom of this community to get the support you need.

Hi there and welcome back. I'm thankful you have rejoined for support with this challenge. I would imagine your partner's ex having such continued reach into your life together for such a long time would be very frustrating and handling it complicated.
