Arbitrary attitudes about money

11jb, we have a shared bank account.  I would change it, but I plan on separating soon, so I don't feel like it's worth the effort. Therefore when he tells me he'll buy me something,  it's exactly me buying it.
We literally live paycheck to paycheck although he likes to pay restaurant tabs etc like he's rich. So I don't worry that he'll spend all the money, there just isn't any. He already does, and I don't have that much to lose.
It sounds defeatist but I feel like it's the calmest way right now. I like calm
