New here, parent of a (diagnosed) BPD adult son

Just introducing myself to say hello. I grew up in a very chaotic environment with a diagnosed BPD mother. My father was an alcoholic who abandoned the family when I was 2. (There was a lot more to all that -- that's the short version!) My goal in life was to create my own happy, functional family someday. I have an adult son with diagnosed BPD and it's an ongoing struggle. I'll post more in the parent forum.
