I've noticed narcissists do not distinguish between flattery and real compliments or loving feelings.

So when they engage in flattery, they are spending a currency actually valuable to them, but garbage to the rest of us.

They must feel confused when it doesn't work.

Of course hes totally rid his mind and swept under the carpet that my wife hates him (and I dont blame her the way hes treated her in the past). Thats just typical he just cannot see how anyone could dislike him.
