I watched a podcast type of video recently.  The quest being interviewed speaker was a CIA or FBI trainer or profiler type of some kind.

They said something that I related to.  It was in the context of woman dating but applies across genders and scenarios.

Paraphrasing he said if you spend exciting time with some one and leave them then crash and feel like something went wrong and find your self questioning what was said etc that that person might be a Narcissistic or worse and they were  bringing about a dopamine brain chemistry.  Like what addicts get.

If you have an exciting time with someone and afterwards and even the next morning you feel warmed by it and still feel connection that you experienced serotonin and oxytocin.

This stood out.

As I think about it Narcissists and Social Media operate in much the same way.  They give dopamine hits then we feel down then we go back for more because we feel bad and want them to get over it.  Not because we feel good and want more.

This is so useful.
