For all of you who grew up with a NPD mom like I did, this book is a good read (just as are all of Susan Forwrad's books)   :)  It was particularly helpful to me since I'm already at the point of being NC for several years in what I describe as my "recovery", this book really dives into the "recovery" process and offers a lot of assistance in that realm.  Because going NC, is really just the beginning, the healing begins to finally start, and at times it's almost worse than the abuse.

Today I was able to convince the library I often go to to order this book and am so happy
about it. This issue is overneglected where I live, a huge taboo... the happier I am
that women here can read it in the original language before it will be translated here
(if at all). Yeah! Made my day. Look forward to reading it.

Emotion Overload

I just finished this one.  Usually, when it comes to self help books that give written exercises, I skip them.  I rationalize it with, oh, I already know what I would write, I don't need to actually do it.  Or, I just don't know how to answer that.

This time, although I wanted to skip the exercises badly, I forced myself to do them.  I have to say that I gained a bunch of insight from writing out my letter as to how my uBPDm hurt me.  All of the exercises gave me new insight, and I learned a lot from this book.

Thank you for the recommendation!

Children of a narcissist parent might like to look at my book, "The Literary Circle". The main character has an extreme narcissistic mother who gives his life hell. The book is on Amazon Kindle at 99p for a limited time.
