I've been reading this book for the past few days and have mixed feelings about it. It is a bit heavy and harsh on the psychoanalysis explanation about narcissism. While reading this book, I find myself looking at many of my relationships through the negative lens of narcissism, which has felt a bit like hammering a square peg into a round hole. At times, the explanations have seemed too cut and dry. The case studies she includes help to demonstrate what she is explaining. The author has some helpful suggestions regarding boundaries and self-care. Overall, I would not recommend reading this if you are seeking a balanced and supportive guide regarding understanding narcissism and protecting yourself from extreme narcissistic behavior.
