what the fog

I'm 33 years old and it took a workplace bully boss to make me realize the depth of having a BPD grandmother who raised me and a uPD mother who I haven't spoke to in over a decade.

I live with my grandmother again and up until 2 months ago I was so confused and just hurting all the time. I found a counselor who finally understood what I was going through. She introduced me to a workplace bully website, which heavily referenced the book Emotional Blackmail. Two prior psychologists had told me about my gm's BPD, but neither gave me an ounce of information on what that meant. To be honest, I don't know what to write. My life has been all about abuse and manipulation in ways that I never quite understood. After reading those two resources I finally have this clarity that I've never felt before. Knowing that all my feelings are valid and I don't have to give away my integrity to be in any form of a relationship has honestly brought a kind of inner serenity that you only hear about. I started exercising, quite my toxic work place, and quite vaping nicotine. I've realized that I've isolated myself because the world I knew PTA stripped away my self identity.

There's no doubt in my mind that I'm an abuse victim. As much as I'd like to write an entire book about each of my traumatic events, that's not why I'm here. I'm here to finally connect with others that have BPD parents. So...

Thanks everyone!

I have to admit, joining a forum is some good 2001 nostalgia for me.
