I am so sorry you are going through this. I am so upset about what the social worker said. And I'm pretty sure people with bipolar have the highest rate of completed suicides. IMO he was being lazy and didn't want to try to get another contact out of your mom since you said you wanted nothing to do with her. He should have respected what you had to say and I am sorry he didn't.

As to the moving 15000 miles away, my thoughts are this is some sort of manipulation tactic. Like "stop me or I will move soooo far away..." I could be wrong, but that's how I interpret it.

Is there a way you can tell her you've done all you can to help and where she chooses to move to is up to her and going forward you are staying out of it? I could be wrong, but it sounds like you have reached your limit with her nonsense.

I wanted to point this out as it's hard to see things when we are in the thick of PD manipulation and chaos.

The hospital was perfectly able to treat and release her WITHOUT your involvement. It would have been easier for THEM had you been involved, not you.

This is how it works with PDs and those around them. They create all this chaos and then rely on the programming/good nature (codependency) is those around them.

There is no need to get pulled back in to PD chaos. They are always fine. Even when they end up homeless they find a way to survive on the streets.

The comment about moving 1500 miles away was a guilt trip manipulation tactic to get you to fall in line. I highly doubt she has plans to move there. It's to get you to step up to the plate and be a good servant again.
