One of the reasons I suspect that group mindfulness based mediation classes didn't feel good for me for a long time,  is that a lot a lot of safety is needed. And socially, in a classroom it's hard to get up and leave if the mindfulness exercise has triggered upset.

It actually lists what I wish I would have known back when I first tried things like yoga and meditation and breathwork classes.

Great list Trees.  Thank you.  I read this several years ago when I began my healing, but it is still relevant, and is more understandable for me now.  Absolutely explains why many in-person groups aren't helpful and can be quite stressful.  I find that to be the case for myself and this helps understand why.
