Every new year season I spend some time organizing and tidying up etc.

I was cleaning up my phone and decided to check my contacts.  I found several that I decided to delete.  They are people who I am either no longer in contact with or who dont seem to want contact from me.

I figure that if they are always buzy or taking a pizza out as I called, or something like that and then dont return the call, and if this was the way it was for a year or more I would delete them.

One was my brother.  I had been letting him set the pace. If he called two months after we last spoke, I would wait several weeks at least before calling him.  I had decoded this because I would only get tue occasiinal call while he was drivong them he would go quick becaise he was going out of signal.  When I calle dhim he was always getting a pizza out or such.

This year he only initiated a call to me when he wanted family gossip or such.

He did not contact myself or my mother for birthdays or Christmas.  So he got deleted.  If he calls I will accept it but wont add him to contacts unless there is a second contact or more.

I got rid of a few others with similar senarios.  I am all about a great reset in 2021 and part of that is releasing people with whom I dont have a healthy relationship.

Congratulations and happy new year!

Cleaning contacts is so important IMO. It's like emotional decluttering. I feel like this year has really magnified the importance of re-evaluating friendships.

The world has seemed to become a pd mess with all the covid related stresses and such so having unhealthy dynamics in my relationships seems intolerable.

Those where I can find no healthy dynamics are going.

This is a great exercise 1foot,  I need to delete old contacts as well.

Not sure why I hang on.  Sometimes when I see certain names in contact list, it brings up good/bad memories of my 'other' life before divorce.

Maybe I'm afraid of how small my contact list would be if I removed all those that fell away after divorce. Sigh.

Lol, initially I thought your subject line was referring to cleaning your contact LENSES
