Robin

Hi,

I'm Robin, im a middle aged guy living with a female covert passive aggressive narcissist.  I realised something was very wrong just after we had our first child, I had no idea what it was, and was very confused with the behaviours and conversations I was experiencing, I stumbled across the phrase "flying monkeys" on the web and eventually found out what narcissism was, and learned about Debbie Mirza's book about Covert Passive Aggressive Narcissism, where everything described in the book matched my partners behaviour and personality.  I was pretty horrified to learn about it and all the things associated with it.  I live in a world of "drama and outrage for no reason", of shouting and screaming in front of our kids despite my asking her to stop, of "word salad" that makes my head spin, and of Jekyll and Hyde personality where one minute shes screaming at me, and the next day shes encouraging me to get help for "my problems" and that we must stay together as a family.  I've never had any experience of narcissism in my life until I met this person, I personally find it absolutely crazy, and when I'm able (financially e.t.c) I will leave, although I am desperately sad at having entered into a (obviously now failed) relationship with this person and that i've had two beautiful children with her who are now having to endure this madness.  I'm hoping I can share some of my experiences and thoughts on this forum because basically I've got noone else to talk to about this, and i'm pretty depressed about it (understatement), anyway - Hi

Hi and welcome. Thanks for telling us a bit of what brings you to the community. Things sound pretty painful and confusing in your relationship and I am thankful you have reached out for support and encouragement and yet so sorry that you have need of us. It has to be so sad to be experiencing these behaviors and to see your children subjected to them.

Building a support system around yourself is a really important first step in making sense of things and finding firm ground for your feet as you figure out how you want to go forward. I have found I needed a group like Out of the FOG and I also needed in real life support from a trained professional to help me make some sense of it all.

We have some really great resources at the drop down menus above. The toolbox and the Personality Disorder traits information has been really helpful for me. There are great conversations taking place on the forum boards where you will find insights and where you can join the conversations when you are ready.

Take your time and settle in and we will see you out there on the forum boards!
