Doesn't want to to the work. Ever.

Been a little triggered lately - this an understatement for me!  I've been going through some health changes due to aging and one of them has required me to work with a physical trainer.  Believe me, I am doing everything I am asked to get through this as quickly as possible.  And it is expensive.  Ouch.

What triggers me though is remembering that PDmil also worked with a PT a few short years ago.  She treated it as a joke.  She didn't take it seriously.  She was unable to do what was asked of her to heal.  And I am wondering if she has some kind of cognitive impairment for thinking this way?  In my opinion, it is a privilege to be able to do this kind of treatment.  And it wasn't like she didn't have the time (or money -  all paid by her insurance in full) to do it aside from spending her day in front of the TV.

This is just one of zillions of examples of how she just doesn't want to do the work "for anything".  It is always someone else's job to get the work done for her or for her credit.  And how did she get in this predicament in the first place?  She fell in her home on a carpet that had worn away its rubber underside that she took too long to replace -- if she was every going to.

She ended up getting a steroid shot since she couldn't follow any other kind of pain medication regimen.  And even that hasn't been a cure all.

People like this I cannot understand.  Options upon options yet they don't want to do a thing because of all the attention it garners them.  Seems to me that others that are waiting at the clinic I go to for their PT enjoy being there immensely.  It gets them out of the house and they learn to take care of themselves.  Many are seniors like PDmil who definitely crave social interaction.  I'm an introvert and I am comfortable with it.

But....it always come back to one thing..........DH!!!!!!!!!!!    Help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (Said in her best baby girl voice).

Oh man I see this so much with my stepkids' mom. My husband describes it as constantly looking for the angle. She will never do something the hard way, she's always looking for the "easier" way even if the easier way makes more work for her in the long term.

Of course then she will be furious at DH for not picking up extra work that she is trying to avoid by doing things the "easy" way. She makes things so much harder for herself, then she tries to make it harder for other people as well. No thanks.
