It's been a year

I've officially been separated for a year.  Now, I can finally file.    Let's get this show on the road!  Unfortunately, I'm still having attorney issues, as she has too many clients and doesnt give me enough attention...I'm just too afraid to switch with a hearing scheduled for next week.  Hopefully, I can file soon.

Had a good chat with my lawyer today, and then I FILED!  It is bittersweet, but mostly a relief to finally do it.  Now I'm scared about what he will do in court and how much it will cost me.

Congratulations!  Huge milestone!  I remember that feeling of relief when I knew the papers were in my OCPDxh hands.

PDs either go for full on charm and lies in court OR completely fall apart and expose themselves. So document everything and be the calm, sane one. Don't accuse him of having a PD, just sho evidence of abusive behaviour.

If you haven't already, I suggest getting the book "Splitting:  Protecting Yourself While Divorcing Someone w/BPD or Narcissistic Personality Disorder."   It really helped me prepare for what to expect during the entire process - from finding the right lawyer to how to deal with custody issues.

After a year of canceling visits, not paying what he owes, etc., he decided today to offer me money, talked about getting a new job, set up a visit with the kids...
I think this is a last ditch effort to not look like a complete ass in front of a judge.  I'm sure it wont last long.

With my ex I found it important to focus on his action. He’d promise the world and then not follow through.

Addicts can be incredibly convincing, and of course everyone around them wants to believe them so gives them the benefit of the doubt that they absolutely are not going to give you.
