She’s going to get herself kicked out of MC

I'm not sure where I last left off...

uNPDm was put in MC 2/10 in sunny state walking distance from Sis2. In the last week alone she's been taken to the hospital 3 times.  Last week they found her at 4am with a black eye (like it looked like Mike Tyson gave her a good right) and a bruised arm.  She doesn't know what happened.  Straight to the ER as is protocol for a fall. Sis gets the call when the ambulance is already on the way to the hospital.  Gets checked out.  Gets sent back to MC.  6 hours later back to the ER because she was in pain.  Nothing wrong.  Nothing broken.  Gets sent back to MC.  Video chats with the rest of the sibs that night.  Makes funny jokes about how she looks and how she's going to give everyone a black eye when she sees them.  Gets off video call.  Sis2 goes to leave for the night and uNPDm goes into full waif mode, moaning, complaining, etc.  Like a switch flipped. Sis2 BF was like "what in the actual hell was that?"

Yesterday, another hospital trip.  Pain on the right side of her chest.  CT, MRI, xrays, you name it...nada. Sent back to MC.  Sis2 goes to visit her at MC. Helping NPDm make the phone call rounds on her phone.  I somehow get hung up on. Ce la vie.

Get a Messenger video chat call from Sis2 in the group chat a few hours ago. Seems like uNPD threw a fit of rage while at breakfast this morning because a new resident came in that resembles her, except this new resident "has better hair and doesn't need a walker". The administrator used the word "clone". My mother literally thinks she is being cloned.  "IM THE ONLY (insert name here) HERE!"  And made sure everyone at breakfast knew it.  Admin told Sis2 she'd never seen anything like it. In the middle of the MC-to-sis phone call, Sis2 conferenced Sis4 so she could her our mother RAGING in the background and WHY WONT YOU COME GET ME RIGHT NOW.?!  I KNEW YOU WERE GOING TO DO THIS TO ME!  I REFUSE TO EAT OR DRINK.  tells the staff LEAVE ME ALONE!

Refuses to give a pee sample for UTI.   Been trying to get it for a week now.

I can't help but laugh.  I mean it's not funny, but it so predictable. Her full narc is now on autopilot.

She had another one last night.  I should preface this one by saying on Tuesday in her fit she insisted on "wanting to die" and giving Sis2 her rings to keep.  Sis2 wanted to refuse then knowing full well that uNPDm would forget everything that happened and then would accuse Sis2 or the MC staff of stealing them. Sis2 ended up taking them and putting in her wallet.

So, what happens Wednesday night?  Lo and behold, "MY RINGS ARE GONE! EVERYBODY GET AWAY FROM ME NOW THEY'RE PUTTING MY FACE ON EVERYONE!" 3 people in her room trying to calm her down. MC calls Sis2 to ask about the rings. Yes, she has them.  Yes she knew this would happen. But instead of trying to talk to her on the phone, Sis2 decides to go over there.  And when I say go over there...Sis2 was pissed. Video chatting us in a fit on her drive over to MC (it's a 2 minute drive). She can't keep dropping everything every time there's an issue, which is every day. Also, problem is Sis2 likes to be in control of all situations at all times and of everybody, and she "reacts" instead of "responds".

I did tell her, "the more times you drop and run over there, the more she's going to keep doing this.  Train yourself not to drop everything and she'll eventually figure out you won't show up.  Stop rewarding her for bad behavior. It's like giving a dog a treat after it pees on the carpet. If she gets put in a nursing home it's her own fault. ". I've got you guys (this forum) to thank for this logic.

It's times like this when I wish WI was still around.

I was wishing for a WI reply just yesterday. I miss her.

As for your mother   wow, that a lot to handle. Good advice to sis about not running over there constantly. I can't imagine dealing with all this. I hope your sister takes your advice and let the staff handle this day to day drama.

Video chatting while driving in a fit? That sounds really unsafe. And about something she knew was going to happen, hm. Also sounds like your sister enjoys the drama. You've given your wise advice, now it's up to her to take it or not. And up to you whether you continue to provide an audience for it.

Yep,  Sis2 has a tendency to make poor driving decisions. Like since she was a teenager. Most of us Choose not to ride in the car with her.  And she does like the drama.  Gets it from uNPDm.

Evidently uNPDm has another bad morning but I don't know the extent of it.

And of course the GC Bros are on their way down there this weekend.

Hi Seven!

This brings back memories of when Negatron got sent to AL temporarily after breaking a bone in her shoulder (which was 100% her own fault btw). H and I scrambled to get some of things over there at the last minute so it would be nice. She threw the whole 'I'm scared! I don't want to go!' 3 year old routine on the way over.  ::)

The next morning she informed us that SHE WAS NOT STAYING  (because someone was not nice to her!!!) and when she was told that yeah in fact she was, the epic fit that led to me going permanently NC ensued. Faking emergencies to go to the ER? Check. Screaming at people for no apparent reason? Check. Full on waif fits? Check. Check. Before I blocked her number (which led to the NC, btw I'm an only child with no relatives in the country so it was just me) she called in the fake sick voice saying she was dying and needed to go to the ER. Nurse went to check on her and.....surprise! Fine. She started calling friends and relatives in other countries saying that no one had given her any food in 3 days and nobody would help her with her arm because legally they weren't allowed to.  (Later she claimed she never said any of this)

The fit went on for weeks. My H dubbed it The Protest That Failed which was absolutely fantastic. People bent over backwards to try to be nice to her, trying to get her into the salon, etc. Nope, she was not staying. She would say to the nurse's faces that they were only being nice now because they got in trouble for being mean to her. H and I went over to see the director, who had known Negatron from the IL and was formally a big fan and thought she was 'such a nice lady'. I asked her if she'd ever seen anything like this before, because they've seen everything before, and she said: Nope. Asked her if she thought Negatron was going to end up in a mental hospital and she said quite possibly.

And then one day it just stopped. The protest had indeed failed. She acted like nothing had ever happened, didn't know what anybody was talking about. Nope, she didn't do those things or say those thing. Must have been somebody else. No recollection of anything like that. Psychologist/social workers came to talk to her and said no impairment, dementia, anything like that. Just a full blown massive tantrum that went on for weeks. (If you're bored you can read the blow by blow in my past posts from a few years ago.) At the time it was very scary, but also kind of a relief, as it was the first time people outside of my 3 person immediate family saw what she was truly like. My H, who is a saint and would go to visit her, and who previously had experienced nothing but the charming old lady act, came home one day looking shaken and stated, "I'm sorry you had to grow up with that."

You are 100% correct Seven that your sister is making it worse by responding to every manufactured crisis....WI would be proud of you! It's like a fire that keeps burning as long as it has oxygen. You are wise not to be that oxygen and stay as far away from it as you can. Eventually it will resolve itself, one way or the other, and you're safest keeping your distance.

She's getting to the point where it's not "good days and bad days". It's "good hours and bad hours"

We believe she has Lewy Bodies dementia, but again no formal diagnosis. Without going into too much detail, we have good reason to believe this is what she has, and it has been relayed to administration at MC. Putting a LB patient on certain anti-psychotics can kill her.

She also has an appt with geriatric psychiatrist next week.  Her hallucinations and delusions are bad to the point where she acts out on the staff. She's declining fairly quickly.

It's sad though really. All the "crying wolf", gaslighting, lying etc she has done throughout her lifetime...and now with dementia, you just can't tell what's real and what's not.

PS, as for Sis2 driving abilities...yep, no one in the family will ride with her...ever.

Andeza

Hmm, LB by itself is a hard thing. Hard on the individual, hard on their family. Throw an extra thing like a PD in there and now it's just... well, Seven, you see what it's like. And of course the word "decline" is the only way to describe what will follow. With the PD and the dementia duking it out, it won't be a graceful decline by any measure.

I'm sorry you and your family are going through this, but I'm glad you are holding your distance. I wish they could give you a little more peace and quiet though.

I've just made a new post in the "siblings" forum because this whole situation has really gone to pot.
