Looking for some feedback - the other day my spouse and I were doing yardwork when a passerby honked the horn and gave us an offensive hand gesture. Not knowing the person, I turned to my spouse and said that I thought it could of been a reaction to some signs we have in the yard. I am confused by my spouse's response that it is a big compliment to him if that is why the person did that. When I asked him to say more because I didn't understand, he said that if someone is flipping him off and honking becuase of the signs, then they are acknowledging his (my spouse's) values. for my spouse, it means they acknowledge him.
This seems rather odd - a bit self-centered. He has some uNPD traits and this really stood out to me because it's our house - not his alone- and in my opinion, the person's reaction was an expression of his disagreement to the signs, not to my spouse personally.
Wondering what others think - thanks

I think it speaks more about his motive for placing the signs.  That hs us happy indicates perhaps, that he is getting what he wanted.

And it's always about them if he is a Narcissist.  His house, his values, his his his.  You are an extention of him if he is a narc.
