Ideas on how to keep out of this?

So grandma is having surgery end of this week.  But for some reason I can't shake the feeling that something bad is going to happen.  I've tried reasoning with myself, reminding myself this is not your stuff under my stuff/your stuff, the 3 Cs, and so on, but I can't shake it, I can feel my jaw clenching up.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Is there some sort of self-care activity that you could plan for that day? Things I might do would be taking a hike or even just a walk in the park, cooking a new recipe, watching a favorite movie (with snacks...  :bigwink: ). Other options might be: going shopping, getting a manicure or massage, etc.

Maybe having something to look forward to/plan would help take your mind off of grandma's life and put more focus on your own.

And remind yourself with much gentle care that the surgeon and doctors and all the nurses are going to be there to take good care of her, and the best way to let them do that is for you to stay out of their way.

That's all you're doing, staying out of the way of the good doctors and nurses who know what they're doing and will care for her just fine.

I tell myself something bad may happen or all might be alright. I will deal with whatever the outcome is once I get there. For now, I choose to believe that all will be well. Should this not be the case I will deal with it once it arises. I can choose what I want to believe about the future and I choose to believe the best outcome possible.
I can't hate my way into loving myself.
