Mercy, is it even possible and does it even matter.

I have an aging pd husband. The aging process is adding new layers to the already rough pd/mental illness landscape.  I don't think I can tell what is what any longer.

I think I will just have to worry about when it has been enough.

How are you dealing with the combination of dementia or senility and pdness?

This must be absolute hell. You have my deepest sympathies.

I have  a friend going through this with his sister, but i dont mention PD.

There was a recent thread about this also ?

I think the dementia can exacerbate the PD and vice versa. ( as in they will say what exactly theyre feeling and thinking at that moment in time)   My uPD grandmother went through this i believe as  she used to ring up and rant down the phone at my mother and others including her husband.

They just put it all down to the dementia.

They tell me they see the onset of dementia and there are cognative issues and such.  But not quite enough to diagnose.

Hello!  Ding ding ding! Hello!!!!

If there are meds to slow things down are we missing an opportunity?????

There is also a deformity in the circulation in the brain.   Hmmm I wonder if it's anywhere near the sinus cavities and or could it be effected systemically by 12nasal spray which is a Vasoconstrictor.

Not playing doctor, just being very frustrated that I cannot speak with them and ask questions as the medical power of attorney and guardian.

I told pd if I ever see him with Afrin again he gets dropped off at the psych ER.  It's a deal breaker.  For me it's no different than crack, meth or heroine.  If it can cause the issues we just lived through, it's no different.  Substance abuse is substance abuse.

I will request the ENT to use an alternative if he needs to scope the nasal passages. Maybe he can give him a shot like a dentist does.

He is happy to have a new room and that I bought him a new mini fridge with a separate freezer.  Maybe the new simplistic living space will be a comfort to him. Maybe not being exposed to the adult pressures of live will keep him calmer and less agitated.

He is on the ocd side and will be pliable at first so I will try to engage him in some hobbies.  We will go to Michael's or AC more soon.  I am making a list of 10-12and he has to select 2-3. He will have an exercise and a hobby time each day he is not at the senior center.  This should appeal to him as he likes structure.

I won't miss the TV at all. Bye bye Andy,  bye bye Barnie, bye bye Gomer, gawwawawlllie, I won't miss you guys in my kitchen, and Aunt Bee you can....... Good night John Boy, and the price is not right, but it's a high price to pay.
