Writing My Own Story

Found this website after a conversation with my enabling dad and reading Harpy's Child. I just want to know there are other people out there whose parents are like this, that I'm not crazy, that this really did happen, that these non-pologies are as heartless as they feel.

Headed to the forums for commisseration/advice on a wedding situation.

Starboard Song

Welcome to Out of the FOG. I have some great news for you.

  • You are not alone. There are others out there with similar stories.
  • You are not crazy.
  • This really did happen.
  • Non-apologies are a thing, and they have a devastating impact on an injured heart.

I am glad you found us. Do head to the topical boards for people who share your background, but also head over to the Toolbox for more learning. The Toolbox is the quickest way to be assured that others have been on this path with you, that there are tactics for management and recovery, and that you'll be OK.

Again, welcome!
