The last line on my long drawn out thread 'drop dead fred' was "I just want to see my dad and hold his hand"...

I held his hand.  But he was dead.

I didn't make it in time.

I'm not going to advocate forgiveness here because I know of the pain caused by elderly PD sufferers, and forgiveness is a personal thing.

I'm glad I was able to make peace with my father before he departed.  I'm glad I was able to tell him Ioved him while he was still here.

And now he's not.

Hold loved ones close and stay true to self.  Each one of us here knows the ins and outs of living with someone with a PD/uPD.  It's difficult, very difficult.

All I can advise is to do/say things you won't regret in years to come, come what may.

I'll never regret telling my father I loved him.  I'll never regret forgiving him for my own sanity.  I'll never regret rushing to be by his side.

Blessings to all who struggle with PD regardless of what side of the fence you're on.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope you're doing okay.

Sorry for your loss.

I went and read the other thread and found it lovely to read.  I would love in my future to find that acceptance.  To forgive and let go of the anger.

I won't have the relationship with my parents that I really want to have but ultimately I would like to find that forgiveness.  I would like to let go of the anger in my heart.  I am working on it, healing and your story was great to read.  In the end I feel a heart with love would be lighter than one with anger.

I'm sorry Heartchakra1. I'm glad you got to tell him you loved him while he was here.
