Hello, I've been reading the boards for some time now and appreciate all of you and these amazing resources.
Thank you.
I am the daughter of an unNPD mother and codependent father with NPD traits.
Currently NC for about 3 years.

I'm in my second marriage to unNPD husband and have decided to divorce.

I've been the sole breadwinner as he is disabled and I've allowed him to financially drain me.
He spent all summer avoiding me in his room only engaging when he wanted sex.
He rarely leaves the house.
I told him last week I want to divorce and now he's engaged in intense hoovering.
I'll post more about that on the Separating/Divorcing board.

I'm so happy I found Out of the FOG.
Thanks again for being here.

i'm sorry you have found yourself at your point in your marriage- i am glad you found us and are making use of the resources.

as someone with a uPD mother, learning about how her issues influenced my life choices as an adult helped me break the cycle.  once i made that connection the growth and recovery started and i've never looked back.

hope to see you on the boards soon-

Thank you.
Yes, I have an 18 yo son who is independent, hard working, loving and compassionate. I worked SO HARD to break the generational abuse cycle and think I've mostly succeeded.
It is my proudest accomplishment.
I'm next.
I can't wait to be free and unburdened by PD issues. 52 years and counting but I'm getting there!

Hello and welcome.
You are not alone.
There are a handful of us currently going through the divorce induced hoovering. We know what that's like and how hard it is to explain to others.
See you on the boards.
I've cried a thousand rivers. And now I'm swimming for the shore" (adapted from I'll be there for you)
