It's really astounding the lengths they will go to to convince everybody what a poor sad victim they are.
It sure is!  The amount of work it takes to be a victim is astounding!  Good to hear from you, Psuedonym - hope you are doing well!  I remember many of your Negatron stories.  It's amazing to me that so many people need attention so badly that they will take bad attention, rather than no attention.

Cat and square - Don't get me started.  Until my mom moved near me, I had no idea how many things Medicare does not cover (or covers at a ridiculously low amount).  My mom has her retirement savings that she could use.  But, and this is not just a PD thing, she doesn't want to burn through her retirement account too quickly and so she is hesitant to spend on anything that might not be covered.  And, to bring it back to PD behavior, this lack of medical care also feeds into her narrative that she is a martyr.  For example, mom's Medicare policy only covers physical therapy if she goes to it (no in-home PT is covered, or so she says).  So she can't possibly do PT, even though it would probably be an immense help to her, because her terrible daughter (that's me) won't commit to taking her to PT three times a week and God forbid she take an uber.  Anyway, you know how it goes.  Somehow, the fact that she is not getting PT to strengthen her legs and keep her mobile is all my fault  :stars:
