Complaints about medical profession

Attended yet another doc appt with Updh today. (He did go to one on his own last week and is going alone tomorrow as well). This was a specialist and I wanted to know what was said etc.
Alas it was largely inconclusive and so somewhat disappointing.
However the doc lectured Updh about something... Oh boy.
After it was: that was over the top, unprofessional, she was a c$*t.... 🥺😲
Good grief.
Good forbid anyone tells him what to do.
Oh and the kicker, when she was done lecturing she gave him 'a look'.... Which he demonstrated for me, and boy did it look familiar.... (Right.... That self righteous, I know best, look...)

My narc mother has this intense love/hate relationship with doctors. She goes to the doctor often because she loves the attention and she always thinks she has some new exotic disease. Then when she finally meets with the doctor, she can't communicate clearly what she is experiencing and it's a big mess of her describing all kinds of contrary symptoms. Largely made up for attention!

Most doctors fall for it in the beginning, but after a while they find out that when they treat her for something, she just comes back with a new set of symptoms. Then when the doctor gets enough and tells her nothing is wrong with her, she gets really aggressive and angry and the cycle starts over with a new doctor.

Doctors can be used as a supply for narcissists either by the narc putting them on a pedestal or devaluing them when they don't give attention anymore. It's all a game.

Oh goodness me, I just had to reply to this.

GROAN!!! I so relate, with my late uPD husband doctors visits were a nightmare.   At first we went to the clinic for appointments and later on they came to our home when he had made himself housebound.   

A tirade much like you describe would stream from his mouth. Of course, the doctors or specialists were all idiots etc.

Husband always LIED. Completely LIED about his symptoms so diagnosis was never going to be right due to the lying!! 

I agree, Honey B, about the attention seeking part too, that played into it with late H but he was seriously ill but lied.  On another thread we were saying how they strangely ignore the real health issues but make up false ones. 

Is all a game, as you say.

I am so grateful I will never have my nervous system battered by this sort of thing ever again.
