A weekend with strangers, How nice.

So I am part of a hobby group that has weekly online chat meetings and twice a year camp meetings.  There are also local gatherings at various times and with various themes.

A person I know from this group overlaps with a group local to me and invited me to their camp out this past weekend.

It was so nice to be around other adults.  Everyone was polite.  The first night the liquor and beer bottles cam out and no ove had more than a couple of drinks.  No one got loud and there was no arguing.   Everyone was respectful and there were no put downs or that type of humor.  No one was racist, or negative toward any group, aside from a political comment here and there.

Everyone cleaned up after themselves and helped with the chores.  People were generous about letting others try their gear and foodstuffs and so forth.  People willingly shared their knowledge and skills.

So basically we slept in the sub freezing temps, chatted around a camp fire and took nature walks and played with camping and outdoors gear all weekend. 
This weekend would not have been possible if a PD person had been there.

A pd would have had to compete, or complain, or one up everyone or argue, or demean or somehow cause disharmony.

I have stated that you could randomly select strangers to hang out with and be treated better than you would be by a PD.  I got confirmation of this this past weekend.

That sounds like such a beautiful weekend.  So humane and peaceful and just encouraging.

I absolutely relate, I am in the wonderful process of rediscovering how lovely it is to be around non-PD people.
