I just learned that a neighbor divorced last year.  They live at one end of town now and their spouse at the other.  Domestic violence was involved and this neighbor has deemed their spouse a covert narcissist.  I'm shocked to say the least that I knew something was off from the moment I met them.  They were all giggly with each other upon introducing themselves to me and I walked away from that interaction feeling kind of gross.  They definitely took up a lot of room in the neighborhood with their presence and then moved to a different area nearby.  They bought a home, put a lot of money into it and then boom it was for sale because they were getting a divorce.  The thing is though is that I couldn't have said a thing to have helped the situation before it happened....the spouse that was abused wouldn't have believed me because she was being love bombed so hard.  Now she would.   :-\  Sadly, children are involved.  I hope they will be ok.

I truly believe in a "sixth sense" that can give us cues about things that are otherwise difficult to detect just by looking at the outward display. Sometimes it seems most people just accept the image and do not take any effort to look beyond that.
I knew of a similar couple in my neighborhood. The husband is a business owner, and his presence just seems everywhere. The wife was active in the school system, they built a huge new house and had flashy cars and boats in their driveway. All that is fine, but the wife filed for divorce last year claiming domestic violence, infidelity and stalking from him via private investigators and GPS devices. I think there were a couple police reports filed. Maybe it is from being on the receiving end of things, but sometimes I feel like you can tell when something is off like you develop a fine-tuned radar. I wonder about the kids too. I hear rumors of the husband calling the ex-wife crazy and wonder if or how the kids will find a healthy perspective.
