I just saw a new Dustin Hoffman movie that sure hit home.  The mom in this movie is my mom.  She's mean, unloving, and just doesn't give a dang who she hurts.  The son goes NC and means it forever while the daughter stays entangled with her parents and pays a heavy price.  When people ask me why I went NC with my mom, I'd like to tell them to just watch this movie, and then they would understand!

I haven't heard of this movie. Thanks for posting about it. I checked out the trailer, looks good!

Wowza. I just watched the trailer. One quote was "so your life is always just like this... emotions and intensity and you always just having to just fix everything" to which the daughter replies "ya".  Also, the entangled adult child calling the child that went NC because "dad is ill and this might be the last time you will ever see him."  All that came through in 2 minute trailer.

Thanks for the heads up. I am going to try to watch this if I can find where it is streaming in the UK
Don't let the narcs get you down!

It does give the point of view of the child that went NC and the child that felt it was her job to always be there for this demanding mom.  I'm still very proud that I was the one that went NC and of course the other siblings hate me for it (you'll see how these two siblings dealt with each other over their choices).  I can't help it if they choose to continue in the crazy circus.  It's the strong ones that are brave enough to get out so be proud of yourself if that's you.  I hope most people see that as they watch this movie.
