extreme need for privacy

My PdH is a very private person, and I can understand it to some degree but I think it's beyond normal.  Things he's done for privacy: put black plastic on his office window because the curtains and blinds weren't enough, closes curtains during the daytime, hides the screen of his phone from me even though he's only playing a game, won't even sit beside me in case I might see the screen of his phone, and goes outside to talk on the phone. Then there's the many times he starts to say something and changes his mind, though that may not be due to his need for privacy. This makes me think he has some PPD thrown in with his NDP traits.

My ex-spouse is very private about finances. This makes me kind of suspicious, because he used to live with and work for his parents, and his dad was very private about finances, too. Both late FIL and my ex hid money, and it's possible they did so because they thought they were breaking the law and didn't want to get caught.

Sounds like classic behaviours of someone doing things they are hiding.

An affair, watching illegal porn, sexting, things like that.

Either way it indicates a big disconnect in terms of trust.

I don't think he's having an affair, and watching porn is possible but I think he'd do that when he's in his office or when I'm not home.

Did he have childhood experiences of privacy boundaries being steamrollered?

Cascade

I have no idea but it's possible.
