Has anyone experienced numerous stories of illnesses from their partner that most likely aren't true? I've had cancer that vanished, possible tumor, to run of the mill aches and pains that required me to miss work and tend. What complicates things is a few genuine issues. Yet when you have a health or recovering issue it's like the biggest inconsistency in the world?

Should read inconvenience not inconsistency

Nonamenoshame,

In my experience with the wBPD, it's a pattern.   With the wBPD, IDK if it is a way to manipulate, or to play the victim or both at the same time.

Since you found this place, I suggest that you do a deep dive and get really familiar with the tools / concepts / what to do, what not to do and so forth.  I can say that the tools do help a great deal.

Peace

Many thanks. I have been making my way through much of the information on here. It's quite extensive and great to have available.

There are also other places on the web that also have good info.   It's easy to get overloaded with info.  Remember that it can take time for your body to catch up to the brain.

Yeah there really is a vast amount out there. I only discovered this site over the last week. I've been looking into various articles and videos over the last year or so and it's been such an eye opener to see how many people, male/female have quite literally been living the same way I have.

Oh yes, it seems to be a growing thing.  I don't know where your located but in USA it's estimated that 25% has some sort of mental illness.   From my experience,  please take care of yourself.  After you get sucked into the maelstrom, it's brutal to climb back out.

Wishing you all the best

Thank you for your insights. There are days when it feels very easy to just pull the plug and walk away from it all but then the idea of the children being alone and what that would perhaps entail arises. It's just very hard

I am so sorry you are going through that. My npdH and his family are much like that. It bothers me because they have faked cancer and heart attacks more than once. I have lost a loved one to cancer, so it hurts when they say they have it, and they don't.

It is also hurtful, because they deliberately ignore the real health concerns of other people, and focus on talking endlessly about "heart attacks" that were just gas pains.

Now every time I hear about another of their health scares, I pray for them and care, but I quietly question it.  I don't want to waste more emotional energy on their fabrications to get attention.

It sounds so mean, but I have learned the hard way, by wasting tears on lies.
"I had to accept the fact that, look, this is who I am. I have to be who I am, and all of us have a right to be who we are. And whenever we submit our will, because our will is a gift, our will is given to us, whenever we submit our will to someone else's opinion a part of us dies." --Lauryn Hill

We may have dealt with some fake or imagined illness a couple of times.
