My sister-in-law who is POA has been exposed and now my brother with myasthenia gravis will be exposed . His immune system can't take it!  SIL is the only one who has been to the NH was told there was covid  there but mother had been isolated.  I don't think you're isolated if therapists are giving you therapy.  I feel blank. I sent word with my other SIL who works there last week that mother could call me last Friday.   Mothers excuse was she can't hear! Funny how 4 hospital calls from me and then one that she made to me she could hear fine.  So I wake up feeling blank. I did think back in my mind about all the nasty things shes said over the years. Like telling me I am a different breed!  To many to even recount.  Abuse, all 4 of us got.  Accused of ruining her life many times. I don't know if she will recover, hope she doesn't suffer , other than that I am blank.  Before the covid diagnosis, she was giving orders to my brother and SIL about what they are to bring her. The newspapers, a dirty old neck brace, a ancient landline phone, a battery, etc, from her home.  My brother said she didn't ask just ordered. SIL delivered it all and now has been exposed to covid.   Everything, always forever  has been on mothers terms.

I'm so sorry - but does she have covid or is this yet another stick on her ever-growing pile? I hate even "voicing" that thought, but honestly. Seems somewhat convenient given all that's transpired recently.

Good news is, you can't visit even if you were so inclined. You don't have to explain it and I wouldn't even try.

The NH called sister in law asked if she could take medication.  They wouldn't talk to me when I tried to call. Lol. I m better off but I m not totally heartless. Do not want anyone suffering with covid

They told SIL she has covid..

Ah. I don't want anyone suffering anything. I may dislike or want them out my airspace, but still. Hope she has minimal symptoms and it moves on without undue drama. :)

Me too moglow, out of my space but not suffering.  If it's mild. She will still create the drama

Oh wow, this isn't good. Hopefully a mild case because elderly with covid = not good.

They wouldn't talk to you Lilyloo?? What the heck?

Lilyloo

Thanks Sunny!  Nope they said she doesn't have a phone.  My sil is POA.  I'm grateful for her help. Maybe I  was to sensitive. I've been known to be!! Lol.  They seemed short with me but I'm in a weird mood. I  guess someone will tell me if her covid is bad. Hard to believe she doesn't have a phone.

Lilyloo - I'm sorry your mom has covid and I hope it is a mild case and she recovers quickly.  I know you are worried, especially for your brother.  You know, of course, that there is nothing you can do to control the outcome of this now.  It has happened and it will need to run its course.  But also, know that this is a weird virus.  Sometimes only one person in a household gets it and the rest are exposed but never get it.  Other times, entire families get it, but one person in the family never does.   Some young, healthy people get really sick, while some older and frailer people have a light sniffle for just a few days.  There is no way to predict what will happen.  Be careful and safe, but also keep your hopes up for the best.  It is likely that everyone will be well, and even those who are or get sick will recover.

Take care of yourself.  This too shall pass, and hopefully it will all be well.  Sending healthy and healing thoughts to your whole family.

Yes moglow a Blessing!!  I found guilt creeping in, and that feeling of obligation, then I came back to reality and remembered all the hurt mother has caused and know that she's not worried about me.  :bighug:

Sneezy,  I worry way to much about everything.  You are right there's nothing I can do.    I was conditioned by my mother to be the helper, the caregiver and of course to this day she expects it.     Your kind words are so appreciated   :bighug:

Yes it really is a weird virus!
I read  that worrying starts when first we worry about something which then goes on to have a good outcome. Our brains link the good outcome to the fact that we worried beforehand, and we inadvertently create a false 'cause and effect' schema.
Whether we worry or we don't, events will unfurl the same.

I had such an 'aha' moment when I read this (a book called 'Change Your Thinking' )  because this is exactly what I did for years and years!   It helped me change my behaviour. I just decided not to worry or try to fix, and hey the world kept turning!
I'm sending my love xxxx

Thank's nanotech!  I love what you said and it really made me think!  I have wasted so much time on worry :( I often just don't know how to stop my brain from all the bad thoughts.   I'm going to look on Amazon for that book.  :bighug:

Ok, I need that book, too.  Lilyloo - I have a deal with the universe that if I worry enough, then everything will be fine.  I know - it's ridiculous, isn't it?  But I seem to be wired that way.  It may ease your mind to know that I never caught covid from my DH.  And he was incredibly sick for a week - coughing, congestion, fever, chills, you name it.  And I was picking up after him, doing his laundry, etc. It was impossible to keep any distance from him, and yet I never caught it.  This is just anecdotal, of course, but I think some people just aren't very successful at spreading the virus, even if they get very sick from it.  Hope all is well with you!

Lilyloo

Sneezy, so glad you didn't  get covid.  It really is amazing that you could be around your DH and not get it. It surely is a weird virus!  I hope your DH is feeling much better.  Me too, wired to worry!   I hate being this way !  Thank you for the kind replies :bighug:  by
