Hello, I found this forum and decided to take a look. I plan to make a post in the threads about dealing with PD parents, but my initial reason to join was because I've learned some really terrible truths about my mom and I don't really have too many people I can talk to about it. I'm hoping this can be a good place to talk to others who may share my situation and find some support and community.

i'm so sorry you find yourself in this situation with your mother but i am glad you are reaching out for validation and support and have felt your way a little in the different parts of the forum.  i haven't seen my real mother in over 25 years and people still question it who don;t know all the details of the events that led to me as a 20 something making that decision.    my best advice is it's like an onion and there are so many layers to it-between grieving the loss of the parent we needed as well as the loss of a healthy childhood.  take your time, step back and let things set a minute if you need to. we're here when you are at that place you can share more.

Welcome! I really like your user name, by the way.

Learning horrible truths about our parents is particularly tough but at least once you know you have a chance of working your way through the trauma and out the other side.
Don't let the narcs get you down!
