I found this forum after giving up on my search to find a therapist. I called every therapist in network for my insurance and none of them are taking new clients. I've been on waitlists for over a year. I spent this week trying to find a therapist trained in NPD abuse and the cheapest one charges $250/hr. I can't afford that. Feeling very overwhelmed dealing with my ex who is a narc and I feel like I have no one who can skillfully help me work through things.

Hi and welcome to Out of the FOG. I'm glad you have reached out for support and encouragement from this wonderful community.

While we cannot begin to take the place of in real life therapy we can offer resources, support and insights from our own journey.

Check out the resources at the drop down menus above, the separating and divorcing and co parenting boards and when you are ready, join the conversations!

Again, we welcome you.

Hi and welcome! I don't know your story but have you checked out 12 step programs? CoDA might be an option for you. You could also enquire at women's shelters for self help groups.
This does not replace therapy of course, but can help you find some stabilty and real life support.
I can't hate my way into loving myself.

Welcome. You are not alone.

I get support by going to mental health carers support groups. You could contact your nearest carers centre to find out if they have a support group or a mental health carers support worker  you can talk to for free.

I follow the counsellor and author Kris Godinez on YouTube. She specialises in Narcissistic Abuse Syndrome and shows how targets of abuse can cope better. She has a recommended reading list on her Facebook page.

Her YouTube channel is called "We Need To Talk with Kris Godinez". I have learnt a lot from her and watch her twice weekly videos regularly.

We need to work on building our self esteem. That way we are able to cope better.

Keep calm. Stay strong. Stay safe. Keep posting.
