recently, someone I know met a person on match.com....he contacted her first
they've been calling each other & texting
she said "I'm starting to fall in love"
I was SO excited for her

he sent a pic of "him" which was actually a pic of a famous person
he then asked her for money & turns out he was a scammer
I feel terrible this happened to her as she was really falling for this person!

someone like this must have a personality disorder to get someone to fall for them & then ask for money!
he said she was beautiful, sang to her, and even called crying saying someone he knew passed away...he was a true actor

be good to yourself

I think there's more and more of that going on. Sadly he was likely targeting her and several others at the same time, feeding them the same lines and story, seeing who'd bite. They/the con artists in the world have expanded over the years and I'm sure it's easier pickings with so many people available on the internet. We all regularly hear stories about catfishing now, sounds like it's big business.

At the least I'd consider it sociopathic behavior. All a person can really do in that situation is report him to the site in question so they can ban him.
