Should I respond?

So I've gone NC with my NPD Mum 16 days ago which she has thankfully respected so far.
Recently there has been flooding in my area and today she broke the NC to ask if I was okay and did I have to move etc.
I'm in two minds here, do I be a stickler for my own rules and not say anything which I know will probably drive her nuts worrying about my safety. . .
Or do I risk responding and opening myself up to a potential barrage of questions?

Any thoughts, advice, comments are welcomed.

Mixed feelings for you - yes I can see where anyone would be concerned and feel you should respond, guilty if you don't. BUT this can also be seen as an "in" to opening communication with you before you're ready. You asked - specifically, unless I'm confusing you with someone else - for six months.
That said ... You could briefly say: We're fine, thankfully didn't have to move. Thank you for asking. That way, you're recognizing she asked a reasonable question, you answered politely. No further conversation required.

I agree with moglow. On the one hand, I think it's a reasonable exception to NC to let someone know that you are OK. On the other, my own PDmom has used semi-nearby natural disasters as an excuse to demand contact, and I know other people here have posted about the same thing. Even if there's genuine concern somewhere in there, this remains a thinly veiled guilt trip. She is making HER worry YOUR problem.

Additionally, be prepared for her to not only behave as if your response means the door is open again, but also to use similar excuses in the future to sidestep boundaries.

Thank you for.your response. Making her worry my problem has always always been the case and it's exhausting. It's why I never tell her anything and especially when suits going wrong in my life.
I am concerned that if I respond that yes it'll mean she assumes that the door is open again. I'm considering letting her know I'm okay but also clearly stating that this one text confirming my safety is all she is gonna get.
I feel so icky and cold about it, but I placed these boundaries for a reason.

Solid advice, I think I will do something along those lines. And yes you didn't confuse me with someone else, I have gone NC for six months with her for now.
