BlazingYear

Hi,

I am 100% newbie here, although my therapist has guided me to the website for the past 10 years when my brother was diagnosed with BP.  I used many of the tips, dos and donts and read the page on Boundaries a few times.

I thought setting boundaries with my brother was hard. Now I have to do it with my early 20's adult son who is BP, ADD and possibly autistic.

I just started back with my therapist for a refresher, and because I was ready for the next step in me taking control of my own life.

She suggested I find an online community.

So here I am.

Looking forward to meeting you all.  :)

Welcome BlazingYear!
I have a narcissist-ish older sister.
This stuff is not for sissies.   We're developing out superpowers in dealing with these folks.
I literally feel like I have a special sense that can root out the PD's now.

Not that I would choose this, necessarily, but it seems to have chosen me.
Congratulations on all your hard work.

Hello BlazingYear,

Adding another warm welcome here to Out of the FOG.  Im sorry to read that you have the challenging task of dealing with two difficult family members, and their disabilities.  Surely, proper boundaries is a crucial toolbox skill to learn and apply in self-protection.  I highly recommend reading the book 'Boundaries' by Cloud & Townsend.

I look forward to chatting with you on the forum boards!
