I like to share this here each year when the course starts so that others cam learn about this program and possibly get involved. This course has had a powerful impact on my life, in terms of helping me learn new ways of being as a person, free from the abusive and dysfunctional family I grew up in.  It has led me to a sense of peace by very subtly changing the way I view relationships, myself, and others.

The Compassion Course is a 52-week course, and diverse community of people from all around the world, devoted to learning and practicing non-violent communication (NVC), compassion, and empathy.  NVC is about how we communicate with others, but now that I've taken the course a couple of times, I realize that the deeper healing comes from how I communicate with myself. It has helped so much with that inner critic. I could even say this course has been a form of therapy for me, in that it is very healing, nourishing, and growth-inspiring.

There are a bunch of different parts to the course, so it makes it really easy to adapt it to your schedule. You get to decide which parts you want to do, and everything is completely optional. So you can do just a little, or get really involved, or somewhere in between.

Starting on June 21st, every week, you'll get an email with a lesson, and some exercises to help you explore and practice the lesson.  Once a month, there is a video conference you can join live or watch a recording of, where they discuss the four lessons from that month.  Then there are practice groups on zoom.  These are for people to get together on a consistent basis through the course to discuss the lessons and do the practices together.  That's the basic overview, but there are a lot of other things to participate in as well.

One thing I appreciate about this course/community is that its very reasonably priced (in fact quite cheap considering the amount of content), and they offer a sliding scale because they don't want anyone to miss out due to the cost.

I looked into the Compassion Course based on this post, so thank you!  This sounds like something I need.

I'm so happy to hear that! Everyone I've talked to who has done the course says its made such an impact on their life, regardless of what sort of life issues and circumstances they deal with. I hope you get many needs met from it. Here is an NVC Needs list - https://www.nycnvc.org/needs/   If I had to choose the top three needs that have been met for me in this course (which is very hard to do, as it meets so many), I would choose discovery, community, and inspiration.
