HealingMe

Hey everyone,
I'm new here and would like to introduce myself. I have recently ended my 2 year relationship with part partner who is said to perhaps have BPD and a bunch of other complexities!
Essentially the relationship got abusive and ended in me having to get a protection order etc. cutting contact has been hard and I'm 2 months into the journey of cutting ties and starting to heal.
Interested to connect with some people who have been in a similar situation!
Thanks

Hello, and welcome.

I'm sorry you need to be here, but I'm glad you have found us. I have found everyone to be helpful and supportive.

I am primarily here due to an emotionally abusive childhood, but my first marriage was to a man with multiple issues. He was never particularly abusive towards me (as far as I remember - I have not yet seen the need to unpack that relationship, which ended over 30 years ago) but in the end I had to leave him due to his various addictions and his constant lies. I found it very hard to leave, as I still loved him, but fortunately realised in time that he loved himself and substances way more than he loved me. So I can identify with some of what you say - particularly how hard it can be to cut ties.
Don't let the narcs get you down!
