all the years growing up in a dysfunctional family "probably" left me with feelings of less than
tied to them, I was anti-Dr and avoided Drs as much as possible
in the end, avoiding Dr messed me up big time!

I left dog out to go potty, came back in for a few min & passed out (all day)
finally neighbors talking & said "not right dog out all day!"
they called husband who was out of town with teen & ambulance called....I was in hospital 5 days

Dr said if I had stayed on floor one more day, I wouldn't have been alive when my family returned from trip

SO now I am alive & there has to be a purpose for me still being here
I am SO, SO fortunate, neighbors got involved & I got to hospital in time!

time to move on & forward & be Happy every day to be alive :)
be good to yourself

:aaauuugh:  I'm also pretty much "anti Dr"/traditional western medicine, probably because mother and her family were so deeply ingrained in "take a pill" for everything mentality. No attempt to make lifestyle changes or address issues directly, even when they knew what was going on and what they should do. Nope, just take this pill and that pill and two others over here because side effects of the first .... And I live alone, fairly antisocial when I'm not working. That's eye opening for me as well. That said ...

I'm glad the dog being out tipped them that something wasn't right!! So glad they sent you help!

Wow.  I am glad your neighbors made the effort to call your husband.

Good thing you normally take good care of the doggie.  I have had neighbors wherein the dog being out all day would be the norm.

I hope your health returns quickly and that you find a renewed or increased zest and are once again traveling along your best life path.

Oh my goodness, Jolie!  What a shock!

It sounds like you are taking some good things from this, like feeling there's a purpose for you to be here, gratitude, reexamining old attitudes.

So glad you're still here with us!!!

Thank you everyone!

so don't know if this is weird or not but husband told me last night he's looking into counseling for himself

I don't know if it's because he feels he almost lost me OR he can't deal with me having an illness now or both

I was just really surprised as he's always been the "strong" one
I guess everyone has their limits
