I went to visit my sister in law for a few days and my partner (not his sister my dead husbands sister)  has been on me ever since I got home. A little back ground I've had trouble with her on some trips before complained to him about her, but he goes to the extremes about her calling her every name in the book, he told me I have an attitude after I see her (haven't seen her in well over a year) I might add she is an alcoholic.  He said I was acting like her tonight, whatever that means.  I have to tell you she is the reason for most of our fights although she has never done anything directly to him he believes I shouldn't have anything to do with her. I have known this women for over 40 years. We became close over the years I was married to her brother, my udpdp just hates her for whatever reason and thinks he is protecting me or something because he can't stand her, he can't understand our relationship and berates me for thinking of her and my other sister in laws as family.

He thinks they are a bunch of riff raff as he calls them.  I have noticed with him that he can't seem to let anything go, once he thinks someone has slighted him in the least he goes on and on about them and is so negative, insulting and really opinionated about everything and anything he feels they have done wrong in their lives. If I say anything to him like why are you so upset about this person well then I'm defending them, omg so upsetting.
I try to ignore this behaviours but its hard.

Hi Juju,

So sorry you are having these difficult situations with your partner.  In my own life, my two PD's (father and stbx) intentionally attempted to steer me away from certain persons and toward other people they desired.

If you believe your PDpartner is creating drama in your life regarding some of your desired friends & family, yet no drama regarding people in your partners circles, please consider this trait below from the personality disorders tab.

Proverbs 17:1
A meal of bread and water in peace is better than a banquet spiced with quarrels.

2 Timothy 1:7
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

Proverbs 29:11
A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.

Yes a lot of these traits do fit him, but the part about no drama between his friends and family is not true he insults them also (behind their backs of course).

A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back

Love this proverb!
