My Scapegoat brother has been really struggling with his health. Serious stomach problems.  There were several diagnoses.  This last week he landed in the hospital in pain.  They got it right immediately- pancreatitis.  So he is doing better and checked out today.

Uhug my parents are so ridiculously awful and unhelpful.  My dad shows up to the hospital with Do Not Resuscitate forms!! It was really really presumptuous and awful!  So his girlfriend called my Narc mom (my brother did not want her to and I completely understand)

My mom proceeds to tell her a story about how she got my brother a piano one year for Christmas and how he went over to his friend's house and how upset she was.  My brother is 50 plus. This happened one day when he was 16ish.  On Christmas Day after the presents were opened and he did like the piano but wanted to be with his friends at that age!!

I get that Health scares makes people weird but this is off the charts bonkers!!  Anyone with similar crazy town..

sunshine702 - I'm sorry this sat for a bit. I hope your brother is on the mend now that he has an accurate diagnosis that can guide treatment for him.

I am continually amazed at the insensitivity and grudge holding that is shown when serious illness arises in an unhealthy family system.

Something similar to the mind boggling behavior of a father bringing DNR forms to an ill son that I witnessed a bit ago in my in law family was uhpd/npd sil coming to her dying mother's bedside and saying: "Your Friend called and was wanting to come see you and wanted to know if you are dead yet."  :aaauuugh:

The most powerful people are peaceful people.

The truth will set you free if you believe it.

I agree, the ability to hold a grudge is unparalleled. My husband is in his 40s and the last time he and PDmil had an argument, she brought up that he didn't let her have a party for him when he graduated high school.
