Hi, everyone,
In our previous vacations, I planned everything and then during the trip BPW would complain, so it's usually very depressing and stressful. Now I have some vacation days from work I need to use, I'm just wondering how I should use it?  Just wondering what you all have tried to have a vacation without influenced by the PD?

Hi peace,

How about a staycation for you, yet encourage your bpw to plan a ladies 3 day outing with friends with some of the money you would spend normally to travel with her. Then you can spend three glorious days at home with only yourself (peace).

Proverbs 17:1
A meal of bread and water in peace is better than a banquet spiced with quarrels.

2 Timothy 1:7
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

Proverbs 29:11
A fool gives full vent to his spirit, but a wise man quietly holds it back.

I love SonofThunder's suggestion! I was going to say something similar, just, what would YOU like to do? Not, what would you like to do WITH HER, but what would YOU like, whether she accompanied you or not? Maybe do some of that, if you can.

My neighbor, also married to a difficult person, went on a three day meditation/silence retreat in a monastery. She returned much strengthened.

Whatever you decide to do, try to find something that gives you joy.
I can't hate my way into loving myself.

Vacationing with someone with a PD can be very stressful - I avoided them.

I agree with the suggestions - try and figure out what you would like and how to re-energize yourself.

I wish I did that  :yeahthat:
