"Wolf Hall" about Thomas Cromwell & King Henry VIII

Has anyone read the book or seen the series? It's historical fiction, which means it's based on real life events.

At one point in the series someone says to Cromwell "that's one of your tricks" and he responds "I was born tricky. I just can't help myself."

All three main characters: Henry, Thomas, Anne send off a lot of alarm bells for any reader or viewer who survived personality disorder'd families.

I have seen the series and enjoyed it greatly. I agree there are a lot of alarm bells - although I imagine anyone who had to deal with Henry VIII needed a few tricks up their sleeve.

I read the book. Couldn't put it down.

It's so good! I re-watched the series. Thomas Cromwell likes the risk, likes the action, but he appears to have a heart.

It really shows how a society of unchecked narcissism is needs to be left in the middle ages.

I watched this again, and Anne Boelyn demands Cromwell to "frighten" Thomas More. "Do it anyway! I want him frightened. Fright can unravel a man, I've seen it" she says.
